Main Street Theatre & Dance Alliance is pleased to announce their next adult production will be the multi-award winning musical revue - “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change’ by Joe DePietro and Jimmy Roberts which will run from March 4 - 8, 2026. Directed by Mark Waite, with Musical Direction by Tommy Russell, we will once more give an MSTDA ‘twist’ to a well loved musical piece.
About the show:
This celebration of the mating game takes on the truths and myths behind that contemporary conundrum known as “the relationship”. Through sketches and songs, Act I explores the journey from dating and waiting to love and marriage, while Act II reveals the agonies and triumphs of in-laws and newborns, trips in the family car and pick-up techniques of the geriatric set. This hilarious revue pays tribute to those who have loved and lost, to those who have fallen on their face at the portal of romance, to those who have dared to ask, “Say, what are you doing Saturday night?”
I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is the second longest-running show and longest-running revue in off-Broadway history and has been performed across the world.
*Please note you must be 18 years and over to audition for this show.
Seeking: We are seeking a cast of men and women with acting and singing abilities to play principal and supporting roles. Audition is required to join this production class. If you are successfully cast, to accept the role you will be required to register and pay a $150 tuition fee.
Auditions will be held at the Howe Theatre on Saturday Sept 20 beginning at 11am with callbacks on the same day (if necessary). The Howe Theatre is located at 548 Main Street, Roosevelt Island Cultural Center. Directions can be found here - https://www.mstda.org/contact-directions

If you are not able to attend auditions, please let us know by emailing mwaite@mstda.org. You must still fill out the audition form and we will accept a video submission (instructions below).
Rehearsal Information and Other Important Dates: (all rehearsals will take place at the Howe Theatre at MSTDA)
Rehearsals will commence on Saturday Sept 27. Rehearsals will be on Saturdays from 11am to 5pm with an hour lunch break. (A rehearsal schedule will be produced once casting has been finalized)
Please note - depending on the size of the final cast you WILL NOT be called to rehearse every week until the new year. Please do provide any known dates that you are not available (see audition form)
Tech: Feb 26 - March 3
Dress: March 4
Show Dates: March 5 - 8 (Total 4 performances)
Audition Preparation:
For the live auditions: Please prepare a song of your own choosing, ideally similar in style to the musical or of a comedic nature. Where possible please supply your own backing track/ accompaniment.
If you wish to sing a song directly from the show, please let us know which one in advance.
Video Submission Instructions (for those unable to attend the in-person audition)
1. Record your song and monologue with a full body view and send as a link to mwaite@mstda.org
2. In your recording state your name prior to your performance.
3. Please make sure we see as much of you as possible.
