COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
& OTHER PROGRAMS

Main Street Theatre & Dance Alliance is committed to establishing relationships with our community through programming in schools, other non-profit organizations, and community groups on Roosevelt Island. We are also committed to supporting local artists by hosting and partnering with performers in and around Roosevelt Island. Grant funding allows us to continue this as part of our mission.

We are proud to have a team of professional performing artists that include teaching artists and musicians; this allows us to provide our community partners with a variety of programs that best suit their needs and interests.
Our mission is to provide performing arts opportunities to everyone in our diverse community and share the lifelong benefits of theatre, dance and music through arts education. Main Street Theatre & Dance Alliance partners include PS/IS 217, Island Kids, Roosevelt Island Youth Center, The Beacon Program/Child Center, and Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation.
In addition to partnering with community organizations, MSTDA supports and partners with local performing artists to provide a creative space in which to explore, create and develop their skills as artists in New York City. This helps us to expand our reach and offer our community more opportunities to experience a variety of performers and performances. Current and former hosted artists and companies include Okaeri Productions, Alessandra Corona Performing Works, Taino Theatre, and Magis Theatre Company.
MSTDA is grateful for the support of local, city and state grants that allow us to continue all of our mission. These include Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation Public Purpose Funds, New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and State of New York Council on the Arts.
