INTERNSHIP / WORK STUDY

MSTDA is excited to offer paid internships and work study opportunities to local teens and young adults that are interested in learning more about the performing arts behind the scenes through technical, administrative or educational work experience.

We are very proud of our teens and young adults and are happy to offer this program to further their education, dreams and potential careers! Internships and work studies are offered in the following programs: theatrical productions (stage crew, stage management, assistant director, lighting, sound, costume design, set design and marketing), dance classes as an assistant teacher, administrative lobby program assistant, and specialty camps as an assistant teacher. Interns will gain skills and credits that will benefit them when applying for college, university or conservatory after high school, lead to their next job or help launch their career.

Internships and Work Studies are offered according to seasons.

Current individuals interested in applying for a Winter/Spring 2022 position should apply by January 15th, 2022. Application file link is to the right on this page.

What should you apply for, internship or work study?

If you have interned with MSTDA before, you will apply for an internship. The pay for internship varies and is based on experience, level of commitment, and time required for the job.

If you have not been an intern in the past, we will either place you in a work study position to first train and gain skills necessary for internships, or, based on other experience you have, we might place you directly in a paid internship.
Work study positions will develop into paid internships once the student has shown knowledge, commitment and capability for the internship.
